Figured Walnut and Pine Lacote

This model was designed by François René Lacote in 1834. It classifies as a Romantic era instrument, and when I came across the blueprints a couple of years ago I was intrigued. It started off as a project build for a nephew's birthday, but after I played it I fell in love, and promptly set about making more! This could well be one if the sweetest tones I've heard from a nylon string guitar.

t has a short scale length which adds a completely different dimension to string tension and resonance. The tuning pegs are completely old school, and are made out of ebony, since there weren't any mechanical tuning machines used in those days.
